L.M.M Production Wins ABC's Best Lights Contest! - 2011

While we specialize in commercial projects,
there are some residential productions that require the professional touch.

However, when we began working with one particular client last summer,
we never envisioned what honor we would receive just 5 months later!

The Whitis Family entered their house in
ABC's "My Lights are Better Than Your Lights" national contest
and not only placed, but won outright!

170,000 LEDs, beautifully decorated across their home,
their shrubbery, and even a custom-made spiral tree
helped to turn this Florida home into a brilliant tribute to the armed forces.

L.M.M! was honored to be part of this project
and even more pleased to see the nation vote this display as
#1 in the USA!

A Tree as Tall as the Heavens - 2010

Gallo, the largest beer manufacturing company in Guatemala, has held a tree-lighting ceremony for Guatemala City (and surrounding areas) for the last 24 years as a way to give back to the community. For their 25th Anniversary of the Arbol de Gallo, they decided to purchase a new tree; complete with a fully synchronized musical light show.

To accomplish this task, Lights, Music, Magic! was charged with synchronizing the tree to 12 musical numbers as well as assisting in the installation.

Here are some fun facts about the Arbol de Gallo:

Tree Height: 145 ft
Base Diameter: 57 ft
# of Lights: 1.5 Million
# of Channels used: 131

The tree was a giant! The frame consisted of 21 custom-welded sections, each 5 feet high. After the frame was constructed, the Guatemalan crew (provided by Gallo) installed each individually lit tree branch into special sockets on the frame before wiring the lights to a custom harness. This harness collected all the branch wires and sent a single cord down to the computer control center, which was then snaked into one of the 45 lighting control units.

Once the entire tree was wired up, it was time to test this baby. A cheer like a jet engine erupted from the entire Guatemalan crew when the first musical number played.

Watch the videos and decide how well we did.

What can be hard to fathom is the sheer size of the tree.  Look carefully at the video for the people at the bottom of the tree and you start to get a feel for how big this thing was. It was beautiful watching the tree come alive; almost like seeing a child grow up. After months of working on this project, to see the tree and its 1.5 million LEDs dance was extremely fulfilling. 55,000 people attended the tree lighting ceremony with another 1.5 Million watching on national television.

Certainly we are business people, but we are artists too. The art comes first and this was truly beautiful art. Thus, that is the tale of the Largest Artificial Foliage Christmas Tree in the World! It truly does not get bigger than this!

Or does it? We are ready for our next big challenge! Are you?
